As one of the oldest human inventions, pottery has been around since before the Neolithic period. Objects have been found dating as far back as 29,000 BC. The first potter's wheel was invented in Mesopotamia sometime between 6,000 and 4,000 BC. Pottery is made up of ceramic materials that may be decorated and fired to produce a work of art. 

 The art of stained glass started with the ancient Romans and Egyptians thousands of years ago. The oldest on record are some Egyptian glass beads dating back to 2,750 BC. Stained glass was usually used in windows where the light shining through would emphasize the colors and patterns in the design. Stained glass art is created using a variety of techniques to hold the pieces together.
